Following a lifelong passion for animal welfare I completed a BSc (Hons) in animal behaviour and welfare then started at Woodlands in 2017 where I will mostly be found in the stables but occasionally in the shelter. Originally from County Antrim in Northern Ireland (yes I still have the accent!),
I grew up around horses and progressed to riding thoroughbreds for different disciplines. I mainly competed in endurance getting up to a 50-mile race and still have ambitions to go further in the sport someday including hoping to compete in the longest horse race in the world, the Mongol Derby.
Aside from horses I have worked with a huge range of animals from cockroaches to giraffes and just about everything in between! At home I have a cat and a dog, who both enjoy testing my patience to its limit but luckily they are both extremely affectionate and are forgiven easily.
